My Family's Connection to Fairhaven

My husband's family has lived in Fairhaven for generations, and it's also the quaint town where we were married.

Over the years, our children have spent a lot of time here with their grandparents—walking through town, exploring local trails, playing in the parks, and simply enjoying the community.

I still visit Fairhaven often, so when I talk about its historic streets, waterfront, parks, and classic New England character, I'm talking about a town that has been part of our family's life for generations.

The town has an unusually impressive collection of historic buildings, many connected to Henry Huttleston Rogers, a Fairhaven native who became a prominent businessman and philanthropist during the late 1800s and early 1900s.

His influence can still be seen throughout town.

Fairhaven Town Hall, the Millicent Library, Unitarian Memorial Church, and other historic buildings give the center of Fairhaven a distinctive appearance.

Even if you've driven through Fairhaven many times, it's worth slowing down and really looking at the buildings.

They give the town a character that's very different from many other South Coast communities.

Fairhaven offers a diverse mix of housing.

Depending on the neighborhood, you'll find older historic homes, traditional New England-style houses, capes, ranches, colonials, smaller starter homes, larger properties, and waterfront homes.
