Few schools can match New Bedford High's pedigree. Established in 1827, it was among the very first high schools in Massachusetts and today's campus is the third home in its long history, with the current building opening in 1972.
The school's teams are the Whalers, a nod to the city's legendary whaling heritage, competing in red and white. NBHS is also home to one of the nation's longest continuously operating JROTC programs a legacy of tradition and school spirit that still defines the place today.
